How To Add Life To Your Winter Wardrobe

9tailors offers some clutch tips for looking good when the temperatures drop

Now that the arctic chill has finally settled in after a mild holiday season, it’s time to cozy up with wooly or down-filled layers. The urge to bundle up with the puffiest coat possible is as strong as the next polar vortex, but we believe it’s possible to stay warm and stylish. Here are a few of our picks for surviving this winter.

The quilted coat options in the picture above are perfect for layering and the hooded fur options are better to protect the extremities in blustery weather. As always, we prefer faux than real fox or rabbit.

As these coats are all neutral in color, it’s a good idea to layer up with a few contrasting accessories that will pull the whole look together.

Scarves are essential in order to shield your face and neck from the biting wind. They are also, however, a great way to add color and life to any outfit. If you want to keep it interesting, yet neutral opt for a scarf that has a simple pattern, such as the striped option above.

A plaid scarf in a contrasting shade (such as blue and green) are great options if you’re looking to try something new.

Leather gloves are another cold weather essential. You probably already own a brown or black pair, but try going for a few eye-catching color this season. For example, the leather goldenrod colored gloves above are a nice and surprising twist on a classic menswear piece.

If you like to keep it classic, try tweed on your gloves instead of your coat or blazer.

As for the more practical gentlemen out there, you may not be so concerned about the color or texture of your gloves. We get it. You’re a gent on-the-go; that means access to your phone is key. How else will you close big deals and get things done? We think the textured gloves by GliderGloves are up to the task, combining warmth, sleekness and overall touchscreen responsiveness.
