Meaghan and Harmony – Booze Époque

Our Signature Drink

1½ ounces Del Maguey Vida Mezcal

1 ounce honey syrup (1 part honey to 1 part water)

1 ounce fresh lemon juice

¼ ounce freshly juiced ginger root (you can do this in any juicer)

 

Dip moistened rim of glass into 1:1 sugar/salt mixture. (If you want to get fancy we suggest Thai ginger salt from Soluna Garden Farm in Winchester).

Combine remaining ingredients in shaker and shake over ice. Strain into glass of fresh ice. Garnish with fresh ginger root and a nasturtium blossom.

Best Bartender Story:

Because we’re mobile bartenders we’ve had all sorts of adventures all over the place.  But I think bartending at Burning Man was probably our most interesting and fun event.  We made drinks pretty much all day and night for 7 days out in the middle of dessert.  A giant mobile sound camp, Robot Heart, was our soundtrack punctuated sometimes by the yacht rock our camp would sometimes play.  We bartended next to a make-shift vintage arcade, and had all sorts of people visit us.  Once people caught wind of our bar they started bringing us pineapples, mixers, booze, and even a blender. People carted in wheel barrows of ice.  We made them drinks with just about anything we had – so it really ranged from Bloody Marys to margaritas to impromptu punch, lots of impromptu punch. It’s pretty much only at Burning Man that you’ll have a naked woman and dude dressed like a pony deliver you mangos and mezcal at 3:00 a.m.

Favorite event:

We do events constantly and they are all awesome in their own ways.  We love doing tiki anything.  And just did a huge benefit for Mill City Grows which promotes urban farming.  So we used a bunch of the farm’s produce in the drinks.  We’re big supporters of local agriculture and community engagement.
