Mondays Suck!

Andrew Mayer cd recording

Well, hot damn last week was loaded with things happening. The week started off with the NFL punishing Tom Brady for his soft balls, then ended in a shocking whirlwind of highly anticipated movie premieres combined with the announcement of the Boston Marathon Bomber being sentenced to death. Geez! I’d hate to be the Monday that has to follow all of that. Luckily, there is a lot to look forward to this weekend if you’re a person who likes to laugh and have a good time.

If you ask anyone in Boston where the best place to see a comedy show is I can pretty much guarantee they will tell you, “The Comedy Studio” in Harvard, Sq., is the best comedy show around. Or, if you asked any local stand-up comedian where their favorite place to perform is they’ll say, “The Comedy Studio” is their favorite place to perform.

Located on the 3rd floor of the Hong Kong on Mass Ave., in Harvard, Sq., The Comedy Studio has been performing comedy shows for the past 18 years. The best part is that the club owner/co-founder, Rick Jenkins, has never had to advertise to pull an audience, the only marketing The Comedy Studio has done is put on a great comedy show.

This weekend at The Comedy Studio is going to be a little extra special which is no surprise because tickets are almost sold out a week in advance (I checked available tickets for the Friday-Sunday shows on Sunday, May 17th, so there is a real chance that by the time you’re reading this the shows have sold out).

Starting Friday and Saturday, May 22nd & 23rd, one of Boston’s top favorite comedians and Showtime named him “Funniest Person in Massachusetts”…in 1986, Tony V will be performing, along with the winner of the 2014 International Boston Comedy Festival Al Park and more!

Tony V

Tony V. is easily hands down not only one of my favorite local comedians but one of my favorite person in life. He is such a joy to be around and to watch him perform comedy. I could go on and list off all his accomplishments in his carer, as well as gush about how great of a person he is, but then this article will far too long and I haven’t even got to tell you about Sunday yet. If you haven’t gotten tickets yet you better quickly click on The Comedy Studio link to get tickets if it’s not too late.

Okay, so onto Sunday’s show…this show is going to be great for 2 reasons, one is obviously the talented comedians on the show, and 2, comedian, Andrew Mayer (a Comedy Studio favorite and definitely a local comedian to watch because he’s bound for great things) is recording his comedy cd that night.

Andrew Mayer cd recording

This is Andrew Mayer’s first cd recording so this makes going to this show extra special, because you as an audience member you get to be a part of a significant moment in Andrew Mayer’s comedy career. That’s pretty cool, right? right.

So if it’s not clear yet, this is what you have to do if you haven’t already. Go to The Comedy Studio website, click on where it says, “Schedule,” then at the top of that page click on, “Event Bright,” which brings you to the page to purchase tickets to any and all shows at The Comedy Studio. Because maybe just one show isn’t going to be enough for you, or maybe you’ll want to tell all your friends and family to go check out a show at The Comedy Studio…I mean, let’s be honest you’re going to want to tell everyone you know about The Comedy Studio.
